What is it? Rarely needing an introduction, Noosa National Park takes the cake in being a very special place. Being awarded as one of the few World Surfing Reserves, it’s no surprise why this unreal location takes my number one spot.

Why do it? Dolphin Point Lookout is a great place to start. This location offers an unimpeded view facing north over crystal clear water. Once you’ve had your fill here, I’d be heading further along the trail to a lookout called Hells Gates which is located just on the eastern side of Granite Bay.

Limited parking spaces aside, this location is a must-do for any keen explorer.

Highlights: Popular for surfing, fishing and relaxing, parking the car here might not be your best bet. Not to worry, there’s another car park that’s just off Gulai street which is a 7-minute walk away from the headland, ENJOY!

What is it? Last but certainly not least is this little beauty, that’s well…. kind of a secret, unless you’re a local (shhh, don’t tell anyone I told you). Point Arkwright delivers a cracking observation deck which often provides front row seats to some watery action below.

Why do it? Because with the right tides here whales can also be seen very close to shore. This location is magic and it proves to be a consistent wildlife hub. Grab a coffee from the Coolum shops down the road (Raw does great coffee), and head back up for some relaxing viewing.

What is it? Second on our list is the impressive Point Cartwright, which funnily enough, looks a bit like a whale on google maps. It’s a grassy headland located just on the other side of Mooloolaba Spit Beach.

Highlights: Popular for surfing, fishing and relaxing, parking the car here might not be your best bet. Not to worry, there’s another car park that’s just off Gulai street which is a 7-minute walk away from the headland, ENJOY!

What is it? Moffat Beach offers whale watching and then some for the southern end of the Sunshine Coast. The prominent headland here gives a great perspective of the whale migration.

Highlights: HOT TIP: Grab your beverage of choice from “The Pocket Espresso Bar” and head south walking up Queen of Colonies Parade for a fantastic view.
